I decided that I needed to venture further afield to see how Boris and I got on. With an 07:45 start from Oboto Towers, it was off into the drizzle to make my way through Preston, out to Longridge, Chipping, Whitewell, Dunsop Bridge, Caton and on to Kirby Lonsdale/Devil's Bridge. Fog on the tops at Quernmore meant there was no view today, but it didn't matter, as Boris took it all in his stride, and, I'm pleased to report, didn't miss a beat. Some of the steep bits in the Trough of Bowland were a bit too easy for 2nd gear, but too much for a comfortable 3rd, so 2nd it was, without forcing the engine to rev out too much. A coffee from the flask at Devils, and a trundle back. Still no drama, back home for lunch. Boris acquitted himself well, apart from dripping engine oil when parked up, and will need a top-up before we go out again.
K-Lonsdale, cars in the bike park on a Sunday!
You get a really good view of the Fylde from here....
